Ben Gorham, a perfumer and the head of the Swedish house Byredo, enjoys exploring nature for inspiration to create new fragrances. This time, for the creation of the Byredo Oud Immortel scent, he found his muse in the agarwood, also known as "agar tree." According to the perfumer, Arabian oud is rich in symbolism, prompting reflections on the lost mystical traditions of the East.
His quest to unravel the ancient mysteries of existence is conveyed to us through the unique composition of this perfumed water. Apparently, a journey into bygone eras has infused this fragrance with motifs of Cypriot spirits, now commonly referred to as chypre. Initially, chypre fragrances comprised scents of oakmoss, patchouli leaf, frankincense "olibanum," and sandalwood with bergamot. Thus, one can expect a similar blend in the Byredo Oud Immortel perfumed water.

I gifted this fragrance to my husband for New Year's. It is one of the most successful scents from Byredo. The oud is very well-balanced, perhaps even one of the most beautiful ones that I know. It stands alongside other notable fragrances like Tom Ford Oud Wood, Mona di Orio Les Nombres d'Or Oud, and Francis Kurkjian Oud.
I gifted this fragrance to my husband for his birthday. It is designed for both men and women, but it radiates a very masculine, prestigious, and long-lasting scent.
