I recommend starting with the Eau de Parfum version, and if it seems too heavy, move towards younger soufflés and illuminators. Intense versions are sweeter, Initials are more powdery. Colognes and EDTs are more vibrant. If it doesn't click right away, it simply means that the time hasn't come yet.

After reading reviews, I will not purchase this perfume again.

The fragrance is definitely unique and requires testing before purchasing. I have been sniffing them for a month already. The perfume is not modern. Nowadays, all perfumes are lighter, floral, fruity, fresh, or sweet. Therefore, if all your perfumes are like that, these are unlikely to appeal to you. Shalimar is different. It is unlike anything else. For me, it smells like a fur coat and a leather car interior. There is also a lot of incense. These perfumes are clearly not for young girls or for everyday wear. The scent is warm and sharp. Over time, it becomes slightly sweeter and the sharpness fades away. So, I will repeat, test them and only test them.

I find it very similar to Obsession Calvin Klein. The initial notes are identical, perhaps it's just my perception.

I purchased this product in December 2020. It is absolutely not long-lasting! I had the same experience with Guerlain L'Heure Bleue (I bought it here around 2018). In all fairness, I must admit that the same fate befell me when I bought Chanel No. 5 (not here). I bought a tester and, honestly, I reassured myself that the lack of longevity was due to purchasing a tester. At that time, I couldn't think of anything else. But now, as a longtime fan, admirer, and most importantly, a longtime consumer of French perfumes (since the late 80s), I can say that suddenly many previously familiar and well-studied fragrances have become less long-lasting. I regularly come across negative reviews. I see myself and my emotions reflected in other reviews regarding the lack of longevity. I think it's not the store's fault, but rather changes in the fragrance formulas. But the fact remains. So... I've put Shalimar in a corner for now – maybe a miracle will happen, and it will improve???? For now, that's all I can hope for. My rating is based on the lack of longevity!

A refined fragrance that I mainly apply on my wrist. If you are a fan of Prada Iris from the first release in 2009, you will also enjoy Shalimar. After the initial sharp notes fade away, I can still detect cocoa powder along with the powdery and incense elements.

Now I also have Shalimar Eau de Parfum. Compared to the toilet water version, this one is more intense, assertive, if you will. It takes longer to unfold and holds the scent better. The final note is not very pleasant, which is not the case with the toilet water. The toilet water is still softer and rounder, more pleasant for me. I'm thinking, what could be causing such a finish? What ingredient could it be?

My first impression of the perfume was, oh my god, what is this, did I make a mistake with the choice of scent? But no, it can't be, this is the legendary Shalimar by Guerlain! For me, the fragrance starts too sharply, brightly, and forcefully, with some unclear "rubber notes" coming out, but over time, it unfolds incredibly beautifully on my skin. The scent is dense, rich, resinous, definitely not for everyone, the key is not to overdo it with this perfume, 1-2 sprays will be more than enough. The longevity of the fragrance is simply amazing, I applied it to my wrist fold in the morning, and now I'm writing this comment, it's almost 11 PM, and a subtle scent of Shalimar still lingers around me. As for the authenticity of the perfume, there are no doubts, everything is done and packaged qualitatively, I checked the batch code, the production date is February 2017.
